About the Program

The Solomon’s Strength Foundation Service Dog Assistance Program provides financial support to families seeking a professionally trained service dog for individuals diagnosed with Fragile X syndrome, autism, or related developmental disabilities.

Service dogs can provide critical support including safety, emotional regulation, and increased independence.

In select cases, the Foundation may award a fully trained service dog, depending on funding availability and applicant need.

Types of Support

  • Partial Scholarships

  • Full Scholarships

  • Fully Trained Service Dog Placement (limited)

Maximum award: up to $30,000

Who Can Apply

  • Diagnosed with Fragile X syndrome, autism, or related developmental disability

  • Parent/guardian applying on behalf of the individual

  • Working with an ADI service dog provider

  • Able to participate in training and long-term care

Important Information

  • Scholarships and service dog awards are not guaranteed and depend on available funding

  • Applications are reviewed by the Board of Directors

  • Not all applicants will receive funding

  • Awards may be partial or full

Solomon’s Strength Foundation does not guarantee outcomes related to service dog placement or performance. Recipients are responsible for the care and handling of the service dog.

How a Service Dog Can Help

Service dogs are trained to perform specific tasks that support individuals with developmental disabilities. These tasks go beyond companionship and provide meaningful, life-changing assistance.

  • Assist with elopement prevention and safety awareness

  • Support emotional regulation during periods of distress

  • Provide deep pressure therapy and calming support

  • Help improve focus, transitions, and daily routines

  • Support communication and social interaction

  • Increase independence and confidence in public settings
