Our Purpose

What Is Fragile X?

Fragile X syndrome is the most common inherited cause of intellectual disability and a leading known genetic cause of autism. It is a genetic condition that affects brain development and impacts how a person learns, communicates, and processes the world.

Fragile X is caused by a mutation in the FMR1 gene on the X chromosome. Because of this, males are often more significantly affected, though females can also experience challenges.

Common Characteristics

Every individual with Fragile X is unique, but may experience:

  • Developmental delays

  • Speech and language challenges

  • Learning differences

  • Anxiety and sensory sensitivities

  • Attention and behavioral regulation challenges

Many individuals also have strengths such as strong visual memory, empathy, creativity, and a desire to connect.

Support and Hope

Fragile X is diagnosed through a genetic blood test. Early intervention and supportive therapies can help individuals build communication, independence, and confidence. Progress may look different for every child, but meaningful growth is always possible.

Our Mission

At Solomon’s Strength Foundation, we educate, support, and empower families affected by Fragile X. Through awareness, community, and charitable initiatives, we work to foster resilience, understanding, and hope.

Our Initiatives

Service Dog Access & Assistance

We strive to help children with Fragile X syndrome, autism, and other developmental or physical disabilities gain access to highly trained service dogs that increase safety, independence, and quality of life. This initiative supports families by helping offset the significant costs associated with service dog placement, including application fees, training expenses, and required travel. Through partnerships with accredited service dog organizations and community fundraising efforts, Solomon’s Strength Foundation works to remove financial barriers and give children the opportunity to benefit from a life-changing support animal.

Inclusive Community Events

We strive to create welcoming, accessible opportunities for children with disabilities and their families to connect, participate, and feel included. These events may include sensory-friendly activities, adaptive recreation, and community awareness gatherings designed to reduce isolation and promote understanding. By fostering inclusive environments, Solomon’s Strength Foundation helps build a more compassionate and informed community.

Education

We strive to empower families with the knowledge and tools needed to successfully navigate educational and disability systems. Through workshops, resource guides, and advocacy training, families learn how to effectively participate in IEP meetings, understand their rights, and plan for long-term educational success. This initiative strengthens parent confidence and promotes better collaboration between families, schools, and service providers.

Awareness & Research Support

We strive to advance understanding of Fragile X syndrome, autism, and related developmental disabilities through education and outreach. This initiative may support awareness campaigns, educational events, and contributions to research efforts that improve diagnosis, treatment, and long-term outcomes. By increasing visibility and knowledge, Solomon’s Strength Foundation works to reduce stigma and promote informed support for affected individuals and families.
